Bajaj Pulsar N160 Ups the Game: Inverted Forks & Smartphone Tech at a New Price Point

New Delhi. Bajaj Auto quietly unveiled a significant upgrade to its popular Pulsar N160 motorcycle. The new iteration boasts a premium feature – an inverted fork – while also integrating smartphone connectivity. However, this added technology comes at a price increase of Rs 7,270 compared to the previous model.

The inverted fork promises enhanced handling and sharper front-end feedback, particularly during aggressive maneuvering and braking. This upgrade elevates the N160's riding experience, potentially attracting performance-oriented riders in the 160cc segment.

Complementing the focus on functionality is the inclusion of smartphone connectivity. The N160 now features an LCD instrument console that pairs with Bajaj's Ride Connect app. This allows riders to receive call and SMS alerts, monitor phone battery levels, and view signal strength – features that enhance convenience and safety on the road. Notably, turn-by-turn navigation is not yet available.

The mechanical heart of the Pulsar N160 remains unchanged. It retains the tried-and-tested 164.82cc, air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 16PS of power and 14.65Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, and Bajaj claims a mileage of 44.38 Km/l, although real-world figures may vary.

In the Indian market, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 with its new features will compete directly with established players like the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3.0, Suzuki Gixxer, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

The ex-showroom price for the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 with the inverted fork and smartphone connectivity is Rs 1.39 lakh. This represents a price increase compared to the previous model but reflects the added value these features offer to riders seeking a more performance-oriented and tech-savvy experience in the 160cc segment.

Bajaj has incorporated a few visual tweaks to complement the functional upgrades. The N160 now sports LED turn indicators for improved visibility, and the "N160" decal on the fuel tank has been redesigned. Additionally, the left-side switchgear receives a refresh with a new button for navigating the instrument console menus.
