Force Gurkha: New Challenger Emerges, SUV Poised to Take on Thar and Jimny

Auto Desk, New Delhi: Force Motors has unveiled the much-anticipated interior of their off-road SUV, the Gurkha. This reveal follows the previously teased exterior, building excitement for a compelling competitor in the Indian off-road market. The Gurkha directly targets the popular Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny, offering a unique blend of ruggedness and comfort.

Key features of the New Gurkha interior

Spacious 7-Seater Cabin: The 5-door Gurkha boasts a standard 7-seater configuration, perfect for adventurous families. The second row features a comfortable bench seat, while the third row offers individual captain seats with armrests for enhanced passenger comfort. Easy access to the third row is ensured through dedicated rear doors.

Tech-Savvy Features: The Gurkha's interior embraces modern technology with a large infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless smartphone integration. A center armrest further elevates comfort for the front passenger.

Shift-on-the-Fly 4WD: Taking control off-road is effortless with the conveniently located shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob positioned on the center console near the driver's seat.

A forceful challenger in the 4x4 segment

The Gurkha presents a significant challenge to Mahindra's dominance in the 4x4 off-road SUV segment. The phenomenal success of the Mahindra Thar has set a high bar, with a 5-door version slated for launch next year.

To compete effectively, Force Motors has strategically planned a two-pronged launch – introducing the 3-door Gurkha first, followed by the much-anticipated 5-door model in late August.

Packed with practical features

The Gurkha's interior prioritizes functionality. Strategically positioned ORVMs ensure excellent rear visibility. The entertainment system might receive an upgrade with a bigger and better head unit, potentially featuring navigation capabilities.

Additionally, the SUV is expected to include a new digital instrument cluster, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Entertainment features include four speakers, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity for music and calling, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Balancing style and functionality

The new Gurkha strikes a balance between ruggedness and aesthetics. The all-metal body construction prioritizes off-road capability and passenger safety. LED lights provide superior illumination for nighttime adventures on any terrain. A redesigned bumper and thick body cladding enhance the SUV's visual appeal while offering additional protection on challenging roads. The Gurkha is also expected to boast larger windows for improved visibility for all passengers.
