New Delhi. Mahindra, after recently launching the new Scorpio N variant, has expanded its offerings by introducing a fresh mid-level variant for its popular XUV700 SUV in India. Named the AX5 Select or AX5 S, this new variant slots in between the AX3 and AX5 variants, boasting additional features compared to its predecessor. The Mahindra XUV700 AX5 S is now available in India, offering both petrol and diesel engine options paired with automatic and manual transmissions. Priced at a premium of Rs 50,000 over the AX3 variant, the AX5 S sits comfortably between its counterparts in the lineup.

Mahindra XUV700 Powertrain Options

The XUV700 offers versatility in powertrains, featuring a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Alternatively, buyers can opt for the 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine, available in varying power outputs: 155 hp and 360 Nm in the base models, and 185 hp and 420 Nm (450 Nm with AT) in the higher-spec variants. Transmission choices encompass a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Notably, the diesel variant also offers an all-wheel-drive configuration.

What's New with the AX5 S

Distinguishing itself from the AX3 trim, which solely offers a five-seat configuration, the XUV700 AX5 Select introduces a seven-seat layout. Alongside this seating enhancement, notable features include a panoramic sunroof, push-button start/stop functionality, and added map lamps catering to the second-row passengers.
