The video looks real, showing the actor's recent trip to Varanasi, but AI has been used to create the audio.
As soon as Ranveer came to know about this video, he warned his fans. By sharing the post on social media, he had written – Friends, avoid deepfakes. Now a new update has come out regarding this video. Ranveer has filed an FIR against this deepfake video.
Spokesperson confirmed
The latest update has come out about the making of Ranveer's deepfake video, in which Ranveer Singh's official spokesperson has confirmed that he has filed a complaint with the police. According to the update, an FIR has been registered and it is being investigated by the Cyber Crime Cell.
Issuing a statement, the spokesperson said, "Yes, we have lodged a complaint with the police and an FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Mr Ranveer Singh."
Let us tell you that before Ranveer, his wife Deepika Padukone has also become a victim of deepfake video. Rashmika Mandanna was also a victim of this. His video went very viral.
