Chandigarh. Special arrangements will be made at the polling centres on May 25 to prevent from heat waves. Basic facilities including tents, fans, and drinking water will be ensured for protection from heat.
Apart from this, the BLO will also give information to the voters through the queue app about how many people are in the queue to vote, so that there is not too much crowd at the polling station at one time and one cast their vote with convenience.
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Anurag Agarwal, here on Sunday chaired a review meeting with officers regarding election arrangements. He has appealed to 2 crore 76 thousand 441 voters of the state to celebrate the festival of democracy on May 25 and cast their vote.
He said that voters should not bring mobile phones, electronic gadgets, electronic watches, spy cameras, etc., inside the polling booths, as this could violate the secrecy of voting. He clarified that only presiding officers would be allowed to carry mobile phones. Voters should only bring their identification documents.
Anurag Agarwal said that candidates contesting elections must disclose their criminal records, if any, publicly. For this, candidates must provide complete information about their criminal cases along with an affidavit in Form-26. Additionally, the relevant political party must also publish information about the candidate's criminal cases on its official website.
He said that the process of filing nominations was complete on May 6, and after filing nominations, it is mandatory for candidates and political parties to disclose information about criminal cases at least three times in newspapers and TV channels.
