Porsche accident: No link established as of now to probe MLA Sunil Tingre

New Delhi. In the latest development, the Pune Police officials have informed that no connections have been established as of now which can lead to probe of NCP MLA Sunil Tigre in connection with the Pune Porsche car crash incident which killed two engineers on the motorcycle.

It is worth noting that the statement from Pune Police has come after Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole on Tuesday claimed the involvement of the MLA's son in the Pune Porsche car crash. He also asked Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to step down from his position.

The Crime Branch team of Pune is now probing two Sassoon Hospital doctors as part of their investigation. The district court remanded both doctors to police custody until May 30. The chief medical officer, Dr Srihari Halnor, and the head of the forensic medicine department, Dr Ajay Taware, were detained by Pune police along with another employee, Atul Ghatkamble. The three were taken into custody for tampering with blood samples obtained from the juvenile defendant after the event at Sassoon Hospital.

After being asked about the call exchange between Dr Ajay Taware and MLA Tingre in the early hours of May 20, the senior police officials said that as of now no connection established between MLA Tingre and Dr Taware as they cannot find any call records. As of now, Police have recovered Rs 3 lakh from Dr Halnor and Rs 50 thousand from Ghatkamble.

Meanwhile, the Pune District Court on Tuesday sent the father and grandfather of the accused teen to police custody till May 31. The minor accused has been sent to Juvenile Justice Home for 14 days till June 5. A three-member team has arrived in Pune to probe the allegations. The Pune Police commissioner earlier asserted that the efforts to probe the 17-year-old as an adult are on.
