Supreme Court issues notice to NTA on pleas seeking fresh NEET UG exam

New Delhi. The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to National Testing Agency (NTA) in the matter pertaining to dicrepancies in the NEET-UG results 2024. A petition regarding the NEET 2024 results is currently under consideration in the Supreme Court, while Lucknow student Ayushi has also approached the High Court with her concerns. Simultaneously, various students have voiced complaints about numerous discrepancies, fueling demands for the cancellation and re-conducting of the examination. Student discontent against the National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the test, is escalating.

Demonstration in Delhi

JNU student organization AISA staged a demonstration in Delhi on Monday, joined by large-scale protests in Auraiya, UP, and Jaipur, Rajasthan. While some students rejoice over their success following the June 4th result release, many feel disillusioned.

Allegations against NTA

The NEET exam and its results are under scrutiny due to multiple reasons. Allegations of torn OMR sheets, inability to view results online for many students, and discrepancies between expected and obtained marks are rampant. Additionally, concerns arise from the emergence of 67 toppers from the NEET results, including six from the same center.

Furthermore, certain students claim to have received 718 and 719 marks, a situation deemed impossible. Consequently, demands for stringent action against perpetrators, including a CBI inquiry into the alleged scam, and a re-examination, are mounting.

OMR sheet was torn

Ayushi Patel from Lucknow alleges that her OMR sheet received from the NTA was torn, preventing her from viewing her result on the NTA site initially. She claims to have tweeted about the issue approximately 20 times to the NTA, with the 20th tweet eliciting a response stating that her claims in the viral video were inaccurate, and no torn OMR sheet had been dispatched.
