What made Congress ‘GAME CHANGER’?

New Delhi. Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results: After nearly a decade, the position of the Congress has improved in the Lok Sabha elections. Notably, these elections mark the arrival of Rahul Gandhi as a national leader on his own. Congress, which won 44 seats in 2014 and 52 seats in 2019, has won 99 seats in 2024. These results have not come just like that, the 'Big Brother' strategy of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi has worked behind this.

The Congress-led INDIA alliance included parties like Samajwadi Party (37), DMK (22) Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (9), NCP Sharad Pawar (8), RJD (4), CPM (4), IUML (3), Aam Aadmi Party (3), JMM (3), JKNC (2), VCK (2), CPI (2), CPI(ML)(L) (2).

The 99 seats are the result of Congress’ strategy as the party never refused the demands of the smaller parties or regional/national parties in the INDIA alliance, regardless of the number of seats they asked for. It always pretended to be the elder brother and complied with the younger sibling's demands.

Overall, the INDIA coalition fought the elections as a family, soundly defeating the BJP's attempt to break the 400 mark this time around in addition to stopping it at 240.
