IPL News, Ruturaj Gaikwad Hundred: In IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored the second century of his IPL career. Gaikwad scored a century in 56 balls in the match against Lucknow Super Giants, during which he hit 11 fours and 3 sixes.

This century of Gaikwad came in the 18th over. Gaikwad's century also became special because he completed the century by hitting a four off the ball of Yash Thakur. 

Earlier, Gaikwad's highest score in IPL 2024 was 67 runs. He made an important contribution to Chennai's victory by scoring unbeaten 67 runs in the match against KKR.

This has also become the fastest century of Ruturaj Gaikwad's IPL career. Earlier in 2021, he had completed a century in 60 balls against Rajasthan Royals. Now in the match against Lucknow Super Giants, he has completed his century by playing 56 balls. The record of playing the fastest century for CSK till date is in the name of Murali Vijay, who completed his century in just 46 balls against Rajasthan Royals in 2010.

CSK came out to bat in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. Wickets were falling continuously from one end, but Gaikwad played a value for money innings for the fans of CSK by scoring a century at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Shivam Dubey also supported him fully in this innings, with whom he had a partnership of 104 runs.

Before him, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Travis Head and Sunil Narine have also scored centuries. Rituraj Gaikwad has now played 3 half-centuries and 1 century in 8 matches played in IPL 2024. He has scored 349 runs in the current season at an average of 58.16. With this he has come second in the Orange Cap race.
